1、 Introduction to KCC Certification

KCC is the abbreviation of the Korea Communications Commission, which functions similarly to the FCC in the United States. KCC certification was implemented in 2008 and is a certification system developed by the South Korean government to protect the domestic radio wave environment. Its main purpose is to reduce personal injury and property damage caused by unnecessary radio waves, as well as communication failures and equipment misoperations caused by other devices or external radio waves. Starting from January 1, 2010, products imported into South Korea are required to obtain KCC certification. If a product intended for import into South Korea has not passed KCC certification but is already in the process of application, South Korean customs will require a declaration letter stating that the product is applying for and waiting for KCC certification (products that have already obtained KCC certification do not need to provide this declaration letter).

2、 KCC certified product scope

1. Information equipment (EMC registration) (computer peripheral instruments - all office electronic products connected to Ethernet cables, including AC/DC)

Example: Computers, printers, monitors, routers, etc

2. Wireless devices (type confirmation or type registration)

1) Some automatic wireless communication receivers (Type verification and can only be tested in RRA laboratory)

2) Mobile phones, Bluetooth, car locks, wireless mice and other products suitable for the public (type registration)

3. Wired communication equipment (type approval) (for electronic products connected to telephone lines)

For example, telephones, switches, modems, faxes, etc., these products require both communication testing and EMC testing
