GB/T 9473-2017 "Performance Requirements for Reading and Writing Homework Desk Lamps"

The principle of eye protection desk lamps is to create a relatively healthy lighting environment through relevant technologies, reduce harmful lighting factors to vision, and slow down visual impairment.

What are the indicators of eye protection desk lamps?

1. Illuminance

Light intensity refers to the luminous flux of visible light received per unit area, used to indicate the strength of light and the degree of illumination on the surface area of an object, measured in lux (Lux or lx).

The national standard GB/T 9473-2017 "Performance Requirements for Reading and Writing Homework Desk Lamps" specifies the illumination requirements for Class A and AA desk lamps.

2. Uniformity

Is the brightness of the desktop light uniform when illuminated by light. The larger the ratio, the higher the uniformity.

The uniformity of illumination has been specified, with an illuminance uniformity of ≤ 3 within a 120 ° fan-shaped area of ≤ 300mm; At the same time, the illuminance uniformity within the 120 ° fan-shaped area of ≥ 300mm and ≤ 500mm is also ≤ 3, and the closer the uniformity is to 1, the better.

3. Color temperature

Simply put, the color of light is measured by temperature in Kelvin (K).

The light commonly seen by the human eye is composed of a spectrum of seven colors. As the color temperature increases to a certain extent, the color of the light gradually changes from deep red to light red, orange yellow, white, and blue.

Different color temperatures bring different atmospheres and emotions to people. The lower the color temperature, the warmer the color. It looks comfortable and not tiring, and it is easy to fall asleep; The higher the color temperature, the stronger the blue light, which will inhibit the secretion of melatonin, thereby affecting our sleep quality.

4. Blue light

It refers to the part of visible light that is closest to ultraviolet radiation, which is the most energetic part of visible light and a type of natural light.

Blue light is divided into harmful blue light and harmless blue light:

The wavelength of harmful blue light is 380nm-450nm, while the wavelength of harmless blue light is 480nm-500nm.

5. Color rendering index

The ability of light to restore the true color of an object, the higher the color rendering index, the closer the ability to restore color to the original color of the object.

The international standard for reading and writing desk lamps is a color rendering index Ra>80, which can meet the learning needs of children. The closer the index is to 100, the stronger the restoration ability.

6. Strobe light

The fluctuation of the luminous flux of an electric light source at a certain frequency gives the feeling of an image flickering.

It is difficult for our naked eye to detect flicker, and qualified eye protection desk lamps must comply with international standards and have IEC flicker free certification.

7. Glare

A visual phenomenon in which there are excessively bright objects or extremely high brightness contrasts in the field of view, causing visual discomfort or reducing the ability to observe targets and details.
